The US Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday cleared the first generic version of the little blue pill for impotence treatment in a new move that could potentially affect its approval.
The decision follows the FDA’s latest approval of a generic version of Viagra, which it has been testing as a potential treatment for sexual dysfunction in men.
“The FDA’s decision reflects the efforts of health authorities to protect men and their sexual partners from Viagra’s side effects,” said Janet Woodcock, the FDA’s acting medical adviser.
